Ex Argentine star tells Messi to leave Barcelona, names the club he should join to Be the greatest ever

Messi started his football career at Barcelona La Masia Academy before elevating to the main team, and he has never played for another club.

The Argentina international has also won all the major trophies that is expected for a top player to win while playing club football.

Only the World Cup and Copa America titles remain a nightmare for Lionel Messi and that can be won at the national team, not with Barcelona.

Despite all his achievements at Barcelona, Gatti is of the opinion that Lionel Messi will have to prove himself in another club like Cristiano Ronaldo to be ranked the greatest ever.

"It seems as if I am anti-Argentine, but until Messi plays in the big games, he will continue to be a player of home games.

"He has to have balls to go to Real Madrid and prove everything there like Cristiano Ronaldo did. Otherwise he will be just one more player.

"Cristiano went to the best club in the world. Messi plays at home, on his pitch with everything that comes with that in terms of home comforts,'' Gatti told TV show 'El Chiringuito de Jugones' .

Hugo Gatti played in the Argentine Primera División for 26 seasons and set a record of 765 league and 52 international appearances.
