Arsenal manager Emery names 4 big players who will miss carabao cup tie against Liverpool

Unai Emery has confirmed up to five Arsenal players will miss Carabao Cup trip to Liverpool on Wednesday, October 30.

Arsenal are scheduled to take on in-form Liverpool side at Anfield just days after their 2-2 frustrating draw against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Emery is however facing a major squad selection headache, with five regular players set to miss the blockbuster cup encounter.

Speaking in his pre-match conference, the Spaniard revealed goal-scoring sensation Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will miss the clash, alongside David Luiz and Calum Chambers.

Granit Xhaka, who clashed with fans at the Emirates last weekend will also not be part of the contingent to battle the Reds.

Emery divulged the Swiss midfielder "is devastated, sad and very down" following his confrontation with the supporters.

"I wasn't thinking him for that match. He will stay here to train. We are going to first recover him as a person because now he's down. Then we will think on the team," the tactician said.

"For example tomorrow David Luiz, Calum Chambers, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Granit Xhaka are not in the group. Some players aren't in the group," he continued.

Meanwhile, Mesut Ozil is expected to return to the fray against Jurgen Klopp's men, with Emery hinting the embattled midfielder could skipper his side.
