EPL: Guardiola reveals why Manchester City will win Premier League next season

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has hinted that he would win the English Premier League next season.

City won the title back-to-back last season.

After a 2017/18 campaign where they amassed 100 points, Guardiola led his men to a 98-point haul last season, beating Liverpool by just one point.

And they showed no signs of letting up as the 2019/20 campaign edges ever closer.

As the new season begins on Friday, August 9, the Spaniard is gunning for a hat-trick of Premier League crowns.

The Citizens have been criticised on a regular basis for failing to win the Champions League, but Guardiola told Spanish publication ARA, "When I hear 'he won the league but not the Champions League' my answer is that I'd certainly love to win the Champions League, but it is the home league that gets your players rallying behind you because you win a game every three days.

"However, when you lose, players stop believing in you.

"The league puts you in the place where you deserve to be. That's why it's always been my priority, ever since I was managing Barca B."
