Super Eagles star terminates contract with club

Super Eagles defender, Elderson Echiejile, has terminated his contract with HJK Helsinki.

HJK Helsinki made the announcement in a tweet on the club's official Twitter page on Friday.

The Finnish Veikkausliiga champions wrote: "HJK and Elderson Echiéjilé have terminated their contract and Elderson will not continue with the HJK team," HJK tweeted on Friday, June 28.

"We thank Elderson for his contribution to the team and the club and wish him all the best in the future. Thanks, Eddy."

Echiejile played five matches for Helsinki, scoring twice and providing one assist.

The former Monaco and Braga star joined HJK Helsinki as a free agent in March this year.

The 31-year-old signed a guaranteed one-year deal until the end of the 2019 season, but has decided to move on.
