Transfer: Manchester United make final decision on Martial

Manchester United have told their forward, Anthony Martial, he will not be sold this summer, according to Daily Star.

Martial has fallen down manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's pecking order at Old Trafford in recent times.

The forward signed a new contract at the club in January.

Solskjaer had also backed the Frenchman to be a big influence for Manchester United.

However, a recent report claimed that Solskjaer was frustrated with the 23-year-old for what he deems a poor attitude.

A training clip of Martial in the warm-up before a Premier League clash with Chelsea has also not helped the player's cause.

But, despite that, the newspaper reports that United have told the player he will not be sold this summer.

Speaking after Martial signed his contract, Solskjaer had told reporters, "It's a confirmation that we are happy with him, we believe in him he's got fantastic potential, he's had ups and downs he's been top scorer, he's been developing, as a young lad moving abroad it's not easy but he knows he's gcoing to stay here for the coming future and I believe in him.

"Very good, he's a fantastic finisher, great ability, he's young, he's intelligent, knows his football, I'd like him to do a couple more runs in behind but I've not seen many player with the quick feet and the skills in the last third as he has so we're gonna build his career and hopefully he'll grab the chance with both feet."
