Champions League: Barcelona suffer injury blow ahead of Liverpool clash

Barcelona have been handed a significant injury blow ahead of the second leg of their Champions League semi final trip to Liverpool on Tuesday.

Their key player, Ousmane Dembele has been ruled out to injury.

Barca head to Anfield with a 3-0 advantage from the first-leg in Catalonia.

Dembele was forced off during their 2-0 loss to Celta Vigo on Saturday.

Barcelona confirmed after the game the 21-year-old has a hamstring problem.

However, Ernesto Valverde's men will be well rested for their trip to England as their entire starting XI from their first leg victory did not participate in the defeat against Celta Vigo.

First team stars such as Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic, Gerard Pique, Sergi Roberto, Jordi Alba and Marc-Andre ter Stegen were all left out of the squad entirely.

Philippe Coutinho and Clement Lenglet were unused substitutes.

Arturo Vidal was the only player from Barcelona's starting XI against Liverpool to play any part of the match against Celta Vigo.
