Tension for Klopp as Liverpool star fails medical test and ruled out of Barcelona clash

Premier League giants Liverpool have been hit with a blow ahead of their Champions League semifinal first leg tie against Barcelona as Roberto Firmino has been ruled out.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp claimed the Brazilian had a chance of featuring but has failed to come through his fitness test according to UK Sun.

The report added that the 27-year-old Brazil international was put through his paces on Wednesday morning, May 1, and has been deemed not fit to play.

The Reds will take on Barcelona in the semi-final first-leg at the Nou Camp at 8pm before next Tuesday's return leg at Anfield.

And even if Firmino doesn't make the squad, he will be buoyed by the fact that Liverpool have never lost to Barcelona in Spain.

The Anfield giants have played four matches at the iconic stadium, winning two and drawing the other two.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will now be relying on Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for their Champions League game against Barcelona.
