Super Eagles defence ace Kenneth Omeruo has been listed in La Liga team of the week after his impressive display on Saturday, April 27, in Leganes' barren draw against Celta de Vigo at the Municipal de Butarque.
According to whoscored.com stats, the 25-year-old Omeruo, who garnered 8.0 for his efforts against Celta de Vigo playing in a 4-4-2 formation, had the best passing accuracy at 90.7 % and came out tops in four aerial battle during the match.
The performance saw Omeruo rewarded with a spot in the star-studded La Liga XI for the week along Barcelona stars Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba, Levante goalkeeper Aitor Fernandez, Athletic Bilbao's Inigo Martinez, Real Betis' duo of Zouhair Feddal and Giovani Lo Celso.
Others are Eibar's Pedro Leon, Espanyol's Sergi Darder, Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos and Real Sociedad's Willian Jose.
Reacting after he was listed in La Liga's best XI for the week, the on-loan Chelsea defender took to the social media to celebrate the milestone.
"See my teammates, Team of the Week La Liga," Omeruo wrote in a short message on Instagram.
"Big deal for me, all God, we go again on Friday," he submitted.
Interestingly, the Nigerian international has featured in 25 La Liga matches this campaign, logging 2,201 minutes.
The former Golden Eaglets star is expected for play a vital role for Nigeria during the forthcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt this summer.
