Chelsea set to bring back Petr Cech

Chelsea are preparing to bring their former goalkeeper, Petr Cech, back to the club.

According the Telegraph, UK, the veteran goalkeeper will be taking up a role as a Sporting Director at the club as part of a summer shake-up.

Cech had announced he will hang his boots at the end of the current season.

He will assess all of his offers and options once his Arsenal contract expires in a few weeks.

But Chelsea believe they can tempt him back to the club where he spent 11 hugely successful years as a player with a job within what could be a new technical set-up.

The Blues are yet to replace ex-technical director Michael Emenalo, since the Nigerian left Stamford Bridge for Monaco in 2017.

Cech could be asked to take on elements of the job he left behind as part of a newly-created role.
