Champions League: What Solskjaer said about Messi after 3-0 defeat to Barcelona

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has hailed Lionel Messi as one of the best, after he inspired Barcelona to a 3-0 win over the Red Devils on Tuesday night.

The Spanish giants came into the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash against United with a 1-0 lead.

Messi scored twice in the first half, before setting up Philippe Coutinho for the third goal after the break.

Solskjaer was quick to identify the Argentine superstar as the difference.

"If you want the result you need a performance and of course we started well but then he (Messi) hits that in the bottom corner.

"He's top quality and he was the difference.

"He's different class, him and Cristiano," Solskjaer told BT Sport after the game.
