Panic at Old Trafford as Man United target holds secret meeting with Barcelona ahead of summer move

Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann was said to have held a secret meeting with Barcelona director of football Eric Abidal over his potential transfer switch to Camp Nou.

The Catalans tried their best to sign the Frenchman before last summer's FIFA World Cup staged in Russia, but all their efforts failed to succeed at the end of the transfer window.

Griezmann has also attracted heavy interests from Premier League giants Manchester United, who are hoping to rebuild a world class team after few years of struggles in all competitions.

So far this season, the 28-year-old has scored 18 goals, and nine assists for his La Liga side in all competitions.

SunSport quoting Mundo Deportivo however reports that the French forward could agree a big money move to the Nou Camp this summer.

The publication further states that Griezmann's release clause at Atletico Madrid could be as much as a £100 million at the end of this season.

He is said to be interested in the move to the Camp Nou after refusing their advances just last August, while some reports claim the player is willing to sacrifice up to £6m-a-year in wages.

Meanwhile, reports from the player's camp claims he is happy at his present club, and will not be going anywhere anytime soon.

Should he move to Barcelona, Philippe Coutinho and Malcom might have to leave the club in a bid to free up space for the France international.
