Barcelona are plotting a move for Juan Mata and could land him for free in the summer following his contract dispute at Man United.
The 30-year-old's contract at Man United runs out in the summer but the club is willing to offer him a 12-month extension as against the 2-year deal Mata wants.
It is believed Barcelona are monitoring the situation and could make a move for Mata in the summer if he doesn't resolve his contract dispute with Man United.
According to a UK Sun report, Barcelona have opened negotiations by contacting Mata's father and agent Juan Sr.
The Spanish giants see Mata as good transfer option especially with the possibility of landing him for free.
Mata who was a £37.1million signing from Chelsea in 2014 has registered four goals and two assists this season.
