Barcelona are set to offload are ready to offload French centre-back Samuel Umtiti.

According to Goal.com, the summer World Cup winner, who was linked with a switch to Manchester United and other clubs in the English topflight is likely to be sold in the region of €70m (£60m/$79m) to €90m (£77m/$101m).

The former from Lyon defender moved to the Catalan giants in 2016 and was looking forward to stay long at the Nou Camp as a long-term solution to Barca's central defence.

But after suffering various degrees of injury, Umtiti is now ranked third behind the pair of Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet.

The La Liga champions are eager to land Ajax centre-back Matthijs de Ligt in the summer but must send three defenders packing to accommodate the Dutchman.

At the moment, Barcelona are short of funds to bid for De Ligt, along with renovation plans at their Camp Nou home ground expected to commence in the summer.

The report suggests that is one of the major reason Umtiti is being sacrificed an expendable member of the squad.

Barca stand the best chance of raising more funds from the 25-year-old defender when compared to others in the squad.

The pair of Thomas Vermaelen and Jeison Murillo are to leave at the end of their contracts in the summer.

But Jean-Clair Todibo will remain for after arriving from Toulouse in January 2019.

In addition, the FFP limits has also affect the Frenchman as he cannot accept lower salary demands while negotiating a new deal.

Umtiti current deal runs out in 2023 and has a €500m (£426m/$563m) release clause, and Barcelona are likely to snub offers below their €70m mark.
