Man United on course to sign long-term transfer target as Real Madrid name price tag

Manchester United are set to rekindle their interest in Real Madrid midfielder, Toni Kroos, after the German reportedly deciding to leave the La Liga side in the summer.

The 29-year-old has been a long-term target for the Premier League giants since his time at Bayern Munich, with several United managers initially attempting to lure him to Old Trafford.

The attempts failed as Real Madrid snapped him shortly afterwards in 2014.

However, despite having a relatively glittering career at the Santiago Bernabeu, the former Bayern Munich star has endured a difficult campaign with Los Blancos this season.

According to SunSport, Kroos is now ready to exit this summer with the hope of reigniting his spark elsewhere.

Madrid are said to be demanding £50 million for the midfielder who is still under contract until 2022.

His disastrous campaign this season has seen him fail to score a single goal in 21 appearances for Madrid, bagging a paltry three assists in the process.

Aside from United, French giants, Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested in the services of the 91-cap German international.

However, having previously indicated his desire to play in the Premier League, Old Trafford seems a likely destination for Kroos.

The midfielder has won La Liga and three Champions League titles since his £27 million move to Madrid from Bayern.
