Here is how long Liverpool have played without winning a major trophy

Liverpool could end their trophy drought at the end of this season as they are one of the favourites Premier League title.

Jurgen Klopp's men currently sit atop of the table with just one point above defending champions Manchester City after 27 league matches.

However, the Reds last won silverware in 2012 - seven years ago when they defeated Cardiff City on penalties to win the EFL Cup title.

Apart from the EPL, Liverpool are still in contention for this season's Champions League having lost the title to Real Madrid last campaign.

They were also in the final of the Europa League three seasons back but were unable to break the jinx.

Earlier this season, the Reds were dumped out of the FA Cup in the third round after losing 2-1 to fellow EPL side Wolverampton Wanderers in January.

The Anfield side are seven-time FA Cup winners but were unable to cross the third round stage this season after losing 2-1 to Chelsea in September 2018.

Meanwhile, the Reds last won the Premier League title in the 1989-90 season, but have a chance to claim their first EPL title this season.
