Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho secures new job

Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is set to return to beIN sports studios as pundit for next month's El Clasico.

Spanish league table toppers Barcelona welcome Real Madrid for the second leg of their La Liga meeting on March 2nd.

It will be recalled that the Catalans thrashed their arch rivals 5-1 at the Camp Nou in October 2018, which led to the sack of Julen Lopetegui.

Coach Ernesto Valverde's men are currently third on the log with 54 points, nine points better than Los Blancos on the log.

Mourinho was an assistant coach at Barca during the 1996-97, and also managed Real between 2010 and 2013.
And he has been called on to offer insight on both sides having seen both sides at close range being an integral part of those teams.

While at the Catalan club, the Portuguese tactician helped Robson's side win the Copa Del Rey - famously at the Santiago Bernabeu - as well as the Spanish Super Cup and the European Cup Winners' Cup.

14 years after, he became Madrid boss and helped end Barca's dominance in La Liga, and he is seen as a hero by many in the Spanish capital.

The former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss broke the La Liga record for most points gained in a single season and ended Barcelona's run of 55 home games undefeated.

He also helped return the Spanish top flight crown to the capital for the first time in four years after which he also overcame Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final in 2011.

Both sides will first meet in the second leg of the Copa Del Ray clash next week, and face-off for the second time on March 2nd.

Mourinho made his first public appearance after his sacking by Manchester United last month as a pundit for the beINSPORTS, covering Arsenal's Premier League clash with Chelsea.
