Lagos court orders the arrest ex-Super Eagles captain Okocha

Austin Okocha has a case to answer for tax evasion as Lagos state high court have ordered for the arrest of former Super Eagles captain

According to Premium Times, the former Nigerian international has deliberately failed to appear before the court to answer allegations on why he failed to pay his income taxes.

Judge Adedayo Akintoye issued the warrant for the arrest of the former Bolton Wanderers skipper on January 29, and thereafter adjourned until February 19.

But the prosecution has not effected the arrest on the stipulated February 19, and Akintoye adjourned again until April 15, before ordering that the warrant be executed.

The ex-Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is facing a three-count charge instituted by the Lagos State Ministry of Justice bordering on failure to furnish his income returns and nonpayment of tax.

The charges were filed through prosecutor, Jide Martins, in June 2017 and the suit began four months later.
