Man United star ranked club's best goalkeeper and it is not De Gea

David De Gea was beaten to the best clean sheet record in Manchester United by Sergio Romero as the Argentine went on to make a name for himself with outstanding performances whenever handed the opportunity.

However, back home, Romero is Argentina's first choice goalkeeper, making 96 appearances for the South American nation.

On Monday night, February 17, Romero was thrust in action as United battled Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup at Stamford Bridge.

The Argentinian did not disappoint as he put an outstanding and confident performance to keep a clean sheet as United stunned the Blues 2-0.

During the clash, Romero, who was hardly tested but made two excellent double saves to deny David Luiz and Pedro goalscoring chances.

The clean sheet against the west London side took his tally to 27 for United in 42 appearances, giving him the best clean sheet percentage (64.2%) of any goalkeeper who has featured in more than three matches in the history of the club.

The 31-year-old subsequently beat goalkeeping phenomenal including De Gea, Van Der Sar and Peter Schemeichel.

He may be an understudy to De Gea, who is arguably one of the best shot-stopper in the world right now, but history at Old Trafford will definitely be kind to the former Sampdoria player in the coming years.
