Gordon Banks, England's 1966 World Cup winning goalkeeper, has died at the age of 81.
The 73 capped shot-stopper, who is regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers in the world, was named FIFA goalkeeper of the year six times.
He played in every game of the 1966 World Cup as he helped England win the World Cup they hosted.
Banks is famously known for his outstanding save from Pele during England's quarter final match with Brazil in 1970.
He won the League Cup with Stoke City and Leicester City before hanging his gloves in 1973.
"It is with great sadness that we announce that Gordon passed away peacefully overnight," his family said.
"We are devastated to lose him but we have so many happy memories and could not have been more proud of him."
He was involved in a car crash in 1972 which made him lose his sight.
