Real Madrid and Barcelona will lock horns in the 2018/19 semi final of the Copa del Rey after making it past Girona and Sevilla respectively.

The El Clasico will hold over two legs as Los Blanocs will be looking to unseat La Blaugrana as champions over the last four years.

Real Madrid last won the tournament during Jose Mourinho's era as manager at the Bernebeu and Barca were are the receiving end of the loss but Los Merengues have not tasted success in the Spanish Cup competition ever since.

On the other hand, Ernesto Valverde continued from where Luis Enrique stopped leading Barca to another successive campaign last season.

Madrid defeated Girona 4-2 at Bernabeu and 3-1 away in both legs of the quarter finals resulting to a 7-3 aggregate scoreline.

Lionel Messi and crew overturned a 2-0 deficit first encounter with Sevilla to a 6- 1 thrashing at the Camp Nou, making it a 6-3 aggregate score.

Barcelona will be at home in the first leg on Wednesday February 2, while the second leg will played three weeks later on Thursday, February 27.
