Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who is Manchester United gaffer has revealed the tactical changes he made to inspire a stunning comeback in the dying minutes of the match against Burnley at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, January 29.
Two late goals from Paul Pogba and Victor Lindelof helped United salvage a point against Burnley as the match finished 2-2.
Earlier, the hosts had gone two goals down thanks to Ashley Barnes opener in the 51st minute and Chris Wood's strike in the 81st minute that doubled Burnley's lead.
At that stage, the match was for the visitors' to lose after cementing the lead despite United's superior ball possessions.
However, Sean Dyche's men failed to be clinical in the last minutes of the encounter as they conceded a penalty in the 87th minute that was superbly converted by Paul Pogba to make it 2-1.
The Frenchman's strike roused the Red Devils' tempo upfront, with their efforts paying off at stoppage time as Victor Lindelof scored to restore parity.
Alexis Sanchez, who came on as a substitute nearly grabbed the winner for Solskjaer's side, but his shot was saved.
In the wake of the disappointing draw, Solskjaer has now disclosed he had to make some tactical changes to turn the game around.
Initially, the Norwegian started Romelu Lukaku as a center forward, with Marcus Rashford switching to the left flank.
However, the duo struggled for the better part of the match and the United boss had to instruct Rashford to make central runs.
Further, Solskjaer had to substitute Lukaku in the 67th minute to make way for Sanchez, with the manager admitting the Belgian had struggled through the match.
"Rom's (Lukaku) done really well against Burnley before," Solskjaer observed.
"He's scored, he's a handful and with Anthony injured we thought that was the best option with Rashy (Marcus) out there," he added.
The Manchester outfit still sit sixth on the Premier League standings with 45 points, two behind Arsenal who defeated Cardiff City 2-1 to keep their top-four finish hopes alive.
