Mauricio Pochettiono and Maurizio Sarri were caught on camera being held back from exchanging fisticuffs on the touchline during their clubs Carabao Cup semifinal at Stamford Bridge.
The encounter which had to be decided by the dreaded penalty shootout was highly tensed as both mangers exchange banters on the touchline.
Despite Tottenham's 1-0 lead going into the clash, Chelsea netted struck twice in the first stanza through the pair of N'Golo Kante and Eden Hazard, claim an aggregate advantage going into the break.
However, in the second stanza Fernando Llorente drew Tottenham level with a headed goal in the 50th minute, with both side missing numerous chances that would have decided the game in regulation time.
The match was decided by spot-kicks with Spurs' Eric Dier missing from the six yard while teammate Lucas Moura's kick was saved by Kepa Arrizabalaga to hand Chelsea a final date against Man City in February.
During the match Tottenham suffered another Ben Davies to their injury list after 33 minutes and was replaced by Danny Rose.
Interestingly, Pochettiono, who is usually calm during matches was a direct opposite on the night as he dished out instructions on his toes in the first stanza.
However, the Argentine was annoyed with Chelsea boss Sarri, who tried to report Dier to the referee after a late tackle on Luiz left the Brazilian sprawling on the turf.
Referee Martin Atkinson did not book Dier for the late tackle, but Sarri preferred a caution at least as he brandished an invisible card in towards the arbiter.
A move that did not go down well with Pochettino who confronted the Blues coach.
And fourth official Stuart Attwell had to step in to save the situation but no official punishment was lodged against the two mangers after the match
