Solskjaer speaks on Ferguson helping him choose Man Utd starting XI

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer laughed off the idea that legendary Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, has been helping him pick his starting XI.

Ferguson left United retired from football management in 2013, but has remained a visible figure at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer, who played under the Scot, has got off to a perfect start as United boss, with seven wins in seven matches.

Some reports claimed the Norwegian was being advised by Ferguson, but the United caretaker boss dismissed the idea his old coach was heavily involved.

"We don't speak weekly. I haven't spoken to him many times. He has been in to visit us just once - he has been to see [Giuseppe] Rossi [at the training ground] once.

"The influence is more my 15 years under him. He is 77, it is not fair to him either is it?" Solksjaer said according to UK Metro.

United are now just three points off Chelsea, who occupy the final Champions League spot.
