Arsenal playmaker Ozil sends clear message to Emery ahead of Chelsea showdown

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has informed club boss Unai Emery he is fit and ready for selection to tackle Chelsea in Saturday's top-of-the-table Premier League clash at the Emirates.

The 30-year-old Ozil missed Gunners last three games, including defeat by West Ham, is reportedly battling with knee and back injuries.

Arsenal are six points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea and a defeat at the Emirates would not do their quest to finish in the Champions League spot though the league any good.

Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport claim Emery has informed Ozil that he will be surplus to requirement in the summer and, must get set to join another club, with the ex-German international already linked to Milan.

On the other hand, the playmaker insists he has no plans to leave the Emirates, and is putting in extra sessions in the gym to prove his fitness level to Emery.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea showdown on Thursday, the Spaniard, who is eager to improve on the Gunners' play could not confirm or deny the possibility of Ozil returning to the starting XI

"He has injuries, where sometimes he is okay, sometimes not okay.

"I want every player to be okay for every match and he is the same.

"He didn't play the last game but this Saturday he could possibly be with us. Now he is training consistently.

"I want every player to give consistency. This is not always easy. What is most important is how he can help us," Emery summed up.
