Former Arsenal star, Nicklas Bendtner, has began serving his 50-day house arrest after reportedly assaulting a taxi driver back in September in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Bendtner was involved with the taxi driver from Dantaxi in a scuffle, breaking his jaw after kicking and punching him.

The 30-year-old, who currently plays for Norwegian side Rosenborg, is serving his sentence at home in Denmark.
During his trial, the Danish international admitted attacking the taxi driver, asserting he felt threatened during the incident.

A CCTV footage adduced at the City Court of Copenhagen showed Bendtner striking the driver in the face.

He said the driver threw a bottle or a can towards him and his girlfriend when they left without paying.

The striker has since taken to his Instagram, sharing a photo of his electronic ankle tag on Friday, January 4 with the caption: "Swipe to the left."

Bendtner eventually dropped his appeal against the 50-day sentence in late November to "focus of his club and family" , ahead of the start of the Norwegian season in March.

He enjoyed successful career at the Emirates between 2005 and 2014, notching 45 goals in 171 appearances.
While at Arsenal, he had loan spells at Sunderland, Birmingham City and Juventus before making a permanent move to German club Wolfsburg.
