Emery speaks on Arsenal's move for Cahill, January signings after 4-1 win over Fulham

Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, has confirmed that the club is actively looking to bolster their squad in the January transfer window.

Speaking after their 4-1 win over Fulham on New Year's Day, he insisted Chelsea's Gary Cahill is not one of his targets.

Emery is believed to be keen to bring in a new centre-back, especially after Rob Holding's season was ended prematurely.

"It's not easy, improving our team in this winter transfer market.

"But the club is working and we are watching different possibilities.

"Maybe we can in this market if we get some opportunities sign one or two players but it's not easy."

Asked directly about the rumours linking Cahill with a move to the Emirates, Emery added bluntly: "We didn't speak about him."
