Hazard unhappy with new position under Sarri

Chelsea star, Eden Hazard, has said he does not believe Maurizio Sarri will be able to transform him into the kind of prolific scoring false nine, that Dries Mertens blossomed into under the Italian at Napoli.

Hazard passed the 100 mark for Chelsea goals in a 2-1 win over Watford at Vicarage Road on Wednesday, having been deployed in the middle of Sarri's three-man attack for the fourth consecutive Premier League game.

Those four appearances have yielded three goals and three assists for Hazard, raising hopes that he could make a similar transition to Mertens, who netted 28 goals in 35 Serie A appearances in the 2016-17 season after Sarri shifted him centrally.

Hazard however feels he plays better as a playmaker.

"Dries is more of a striker than me.I am more like a playmaker.

"Since I started [playing] football I like to come and touch the ball. Dries is not like this, he just wants to stay in the box. That's why he scores a lot of goals.

"We are different, but I know Sarri likes to change some positions and that happens sometimes," Hazard said according to ESPN.
