Unai Emery reveals why Arsenal drew 1-1 with Brighton, explains Ozil's substitution

Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, has said his side failed to beat Brighton on Boxing Day, because they didn't control the game enough.

The Gunners took the lead through in-form Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but the hosts levelled after a defensive mix-up, shortly before the interval.

"We are disappointed but the first half is they key in the match. We had two chances to score and the goalkeeper saved very well from Aubameyang. We didn't concede many chances but they scored from one.

"They are a very organised team. I think it's difficult to win here. We wanted to control the match and in the first half we did this, but the second half we cannot do that.

"We are in our process, we want to be in the top four but we are continuing and improving," Emery told Sky Sports after the game.

When asked whether the Mesut Ozil's substitution was due to Brighton equaliser, Emery replied: "No, it's only tactical. Because we changed from 4-4-2 and this is only a tactical decision."
