Barcelona name the 2 superstars they will sign to solve their defensive woes

Spanish League giants Barcelona are reportedly considering to sign either of Vincent Kompany or Branislav Ivanovic to beef up their feeble defence line.

The Catalans have been poor at the back this term - conceding 19 goals in their last 13 league matches so far.

Coach Ernesto Valverde's men are currently second on La Liga table with 25 points from 13 games - one point behind table toppers Sevilla.

They will however hope they can fix the lapses in their defence in the January transfer window with the signing of either Man City defender or the former Chelsea star.

Belgian star Kompany has been on Barca's radar for some time now but it is unlikely his Premier League side will allow him leave.

While SunSport report that they are hoping to secure the services of former Blues player Ivanovic, even if it is on loan.

Kompany has only made three Premier League starts this season, but his experience will be highly useful for any team.

Ivanovic could be considering a move to Spain and guarantee himself Champions League football.

Meanwhile, the Catalans are planning to sign one of the two stars as a back for Samuel Umtiti, who has not been consistent for the club due to injury.

A situation that has made Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet combine well for the club in the wake of Umtiti's absence.

Chelsea center defender is also considered as a suitable candidate for the position the Spanish club are looking to recruit in January.

The Brazilian star has a running contract with the Blues until the summer of 2019 and will then be able o talk to any club as a free agent.

It was reported last month that the La Liga side had identified Laurent Koscielny and David Luiz as two potential recruits.

Both men are seen as 'experienced and cheap' - though the Arsenal ace hasn't featured all season and the Brazilian international has been ever-present under Maurizio Sarri.
