Manchester United are setting their sights on making a big summer money move for Barcelona left-back, Jordi Alba.
Jose Mourinho is desperately searching for a left full back and sources in Spain have revealed that the Portuguese manager wants the 29-year-old at Old Trafford.
However, the Catalan side have slapped a heft £133 million price-tag on the Spain international if the deal should be sealed.
On the other hand, England star Luke Shaw recently signed a £190,000-a-week for the next five years following his remarkable form.
But the 23-year-old is the only functioning left-back in the Red Devils' squad at the moment and the likes of Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Matteo Darmian and Ashley Young have all deputized at left-back in recent seasons.
And that is why Mourinho is doing all he can to sign a naturally gifted world class left-back as he turns his attention to the veteran Alba.
The Old Trafford chief is thought to be unwilling pay that much as Mourinho may now need to turn his attention to cheaper options in the January window.
