How Paul Pogba saved Jose Mourinho's job at Manchester United

Paul Pogba played an important role in Manchester United's comeback win against Newcastle at Old Trafford after Jose Mourinho consulted him on tactics.
United were trailing the Magpies by 2-0 at half time and it is understood Mourinho listened to his players' opinions over what went wrong in the dressing room.
Then Mourinho asked Pogba what he felt should be done and the Frenchman suggested a deeper role for himself.
The Portuguese gaffer yielded to his advise as he brought in Marouane Fellaini for Scott McTominay and pushed Nemanja Matic in the back four having substituted Eric Bailly for Juan Mata.

The World Cup winner took on a lone role ahead of the back four with Fellaini playing in front of him in the center.
Then, Pogba orchestrated the play in the midfield in what became his best match for the Red Devils this season as they fought back and scored three goals in the last 20 minutes of the match.

Mourinho said: "During half-time we opened our hearts and we spoke about tactical changes for two minutes.
"Then we spoke for eight minutes about other things that I thought would let the players be a little bit more free to face the second half and it became 3-2. Amazing."

With the victory over the Toons, the team and the backroom room staff are all united as one hoping it will be a turning point to their disastrous start of the season.
Mourinho and Pogba have been involved in several conflicts this season especially the training ground spat in late September.
The 25-year-old was told he will captain United again but Mourinho had insisted the France international was never captain but they still showed they could still work together in Saturday's win.

It is understood Mourinho received a text message from a board member telling him to ignore stories he was about to be sacked.
The club's Group Managing Director Richard Arnold even hugged the him after the game while the manager was conducting an interview.

Mourinho was then asked about his future at Old Trafford after seeing United chief Ed Woodward's right-hand man Arnold walk past, he said 'ask him'.
And Arnold hugged Mourinho and said 'well done'.
Mourinho has been rumoured to get sacked as the with former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane as linked to take over.
However, the French legend recently said he is not interested in Mourinho's job and his agent also confirmed it recently.
Agent Alain Migliaccio said: "I do not think that he will manage in England. It is much less his style.
"I have discussed it with him, it does not really attract him. He has chosen to have a year out, he will not dive in again before that."
