Barcelona star makes comparisons between Messi and Modric after UCL over Tottenham

Barcelona defender Jordi Alba has stated Lionel Messi remains the best player in the world following Barcelona's 4-2 win over Tottenham.
The Argentine talisman was simply unstoppable in front of the cheering Spurs fans at the Wembley Stadium.
The 31-year-old did not make the final three nomination for the FIFA's Best Men's Player award which was won by Real Madrid playmaker Luka Modric.

The Croatian has also been tipped to win the Ballon d'Or after helping Los Blancos win the Champions League last season and helping his country finish in second at the World Cup.

However, Alba has another opinion concerning Modric's award claiming Messi is still the man to beat.
"For me, 'The Best' is a lie. [Luka] Modric is a great player, one of the best in the world," Alba said at Wembley.
"But Messi is like at a separate table, plays at another level. He has once again demonstrated that he is the best in the world.
"When Leo runs, the rest of us only have to grit our teeth. He is the best and he makes us all a little better."

The Barcelona captain has scored ten goals this season including five Champions League goals as well as providing five assists.
