Arsenal keen to sign £44m-rated Argentine winger discovered during the summer World Cup

   Arsenal are still in the running for Argentina's Albiceleste ace Cristian Pavon and the Premier League side are expected to open discussions with his club Boca Juniors in the coming days.

According to a UK Daily Mail report, Arsenal hinted their interest on Pavon after the summer World Cup in Russia, and will continue the hunt for the 22-year-old despite the departure of CEO Ivan Gazidis to AC Milian.
Already, Boca in an attempt to fend off potential suitors confirmed that the Argentine, has penned a contract extension.

Speaking on the development, club president Daniel Angelici took out time, to highlight the latest surrounding the forward.

"Pavon stays, signed for four more years. The clause is 50 million euros, which was what we wanted to be calm. We wanted to sell it when we understood that it was the necessary moment (sic)," Angelici was quoted as saying by TeamTalk.

Arsenal's new head of football, Raul Sanllehi is expected to seal the Pavon's deal as soon as all parties concern meet to sort issues.

The Gunners are currently placed seventh in the EPL log with nine points from a possible 15 points after five matches in the new campaign.
