Mohamed Salah has joked Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane was a lonely figure at the club before the arrival of Naby Keita.
Keita - who shares the same agent group as Mane - arrived on Merseyside from RB Leipzig in July after a deal was agreed for him last summer.
The Guinea international has settled into Liverpool well - starting in three out of four of their opening Premier League games this season.
But Salah revealed in a jokey interview published on Liverpool's YouTube channel that Keita's arrival has also been crucial in helping Mane make a friend!
When asked who Mane's best friend at the club was, the Egyptian said: "No-one! Sadio is living alone in Liverpool. He just walks alone! He eats alone, drinks alone, he just leaves everyone alone."
However, Salah admits that has now all changed with Keita's arrival.
He added: "Now, Naby is his best friend but before Naby he was alone! That's true.
Despite his rumoured loneliness, Mane is one of Liverpool's most important players
Mane admitted that he often keeps himself to himself, saying: "I'm not someone who loves talking too much, you know. But I think he (Keita) needs help!"
Salah wasn't having any of this description of the pair's friendship though, adding: "It's not because he needs help! It's because he's your friend!"
