Andres Iniesta combines with Lukas Podolski to score outrageous opening goal for Vissel Kobe

Andres Iniesta opened his account for Vissel Kobe in style with a sensational solo goal in the side's J1 League clash with Jubilo Iwata.

The legendary 34-year-old signed a three-year contract with Japanese outfit Vissel Kobe after 16 unprecedented seasons with Barcelona where he won 33 trophies, making him the most decorated Spanish player in history.

Iniesta's debut for Kobe came on as a second-half substitute in a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Shonan Bellmare last month but the iconic midfielder gave his side the lead in Saturday's encounter with Jubilo.

Sitting just three places and one point above Jubilo in the league, it was a crucial match for Kobe, but Iniesta showed no signs of nerves with an unbelievable goal in the 15th minute.

Latching onto an enticing pass from former Arsenal man Lukas Podolski, the Spaniard performed a 180° turn on one Jubilo defender before effortlessly rounding the goalkeeper to fire into an empty net.

After joining Kobe earlier this summer, Iniesta said: 'For me this is a very special day.

'This is an important challenge for me. My family is excited to come to Japan and we are very pleased.

'There were many offers. Other clubs showed interest.

'But I decided to sign with Vissel Kobe because the project presented to me was impressive.'
