And, according to the Sun, Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is ready to risk the Belgian with several other stars missing.

Lukaku lined up in training at Carrington in preparation for Friday night's game against the Foxes.

Out of players who reached the final weekend of the World Cup, he appears most likely to start.

Paul Pogba, Marourane Fellaini, Jesse Lingard, Ashley Young, Marcus Rashford and Phil Jones all reached the latter stages in Russia.

Mourinho was reportedly desperate to add depth to his squad in the summer window, particularly in central defence, but his demands were not met by the board.

The Red Devils did, however, make three new additions. They signed Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk for £53.1m, Diogo Dalot from Porto for £19.8m and Lee Grant from Stoke for 1.5m.
