Lazio value Anderson at around £40m

It has been reported that Maurizio Sarri, still the man expected to become Chelsea's boss this summer, is a huge fan of the midfielder and wants him in his new squad.

It has been suggested that Chelsea are ready to firm up that interest by making a bid of around £26.5m in the hope of gazumping West Ham.

Such a figure is unlikely to be enough to tempt Lazio into selling but it would be a clear signal of intent by Chelsea.

The Serie A club believe the Brazilian is worth close to £40m, especially considering his former club Santos are due a 25 per cent share of the sale price.
