Thibaut Courtois mocks Jordan Pickford for his height after Belgium beat England

Thibaut Courtois aimed a swipe at Jordan Pickford following Belgium's 1-0 victory over England at the World Cup.

Gareth Southgate chose Pickford as England's No. 1 ahead of the trip to Russia and the Everton goalkeeper played every minute in Group G for the Three Lions.

While Pickford had little to do in England's opening clashes with Tunisia and Panama, the 24-year-old was put to the test against Belgium and was criticised for his part in Adnan Januzaj's winner.

Belgium and Chelsea star Courtois mocked Pickford for his height and believes his opposite number was trying too hard to make a dramatic dive.

'The goalkeeper is 10cm smaller than me,' he told Belgian outlet Voetball24.

'I would have caught it. He was too busy throwing his legs in the air.'

Manchester United legend Gary Neville claimed Pickford's attempt to deny Januzaj was 'weird'.

'His feet are off the ground when he's jumping,' Neville said on ITV.

'He goes with his wrong hand. It's just a bit weird.'

Pickford is expected to keep his place in goal for England when Southgate's men take on Colombia in the last 16.
