Chelsea FC news: Blues target Zinedine Zidane to replace Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea will reportedly target Zinedine Zidane as a potential replacement manager for Antonio Conte, following his shock resignation from Real Madrid.

The Blues are ready to ask the 45-year-old Frenchman if he wants an immediate return to a major hotseat, according to a report in Friday's Sun.

Zidane's departure from the Bernabeu came as a surprise to Madrid, just days after he led them to a third successive Champions League trophy.

However, Chelsea see ZiZou's decision to leave as an opportunity and are ready to make at least an informal approach to gauge his interest in the job.

They had also been targeting Napoli's Maurizio Sarri, after it was announced that Carlo Ancelotti would replace him next season, though this plan has now been complicated by the Italian club's compensation demands.
