Liverpool Fans Launch Petition To Punish Sergio Ramos For Mohamed Salah Injury

Over 130,000 Liverpool fans have signed a petition to get Sergio Ramos banned for 'intentionally' injuring Mohamed Salah in the Champions League final.

Liverpool supporters have called on Uefa and Fifa to take retrospective action against Ramos, who collided with Salah during the game.

Salah and Ramos got tangled in a challenge and fell to the floor, and the impact ultimately caused the Liverpool talisman to be substituted off.

A section of Liverpool fans insist Ramos' intention was to take Salah out of the game, and point to the fact the Real defender wrapped his arm around his opponent.

Salah and Ramos fell to the pitch floor, but it was the opposite shoulder that was injured, and pictures seem to show it was the forward who first wrapped his arm around Ramos.

Ramos tangled with Salah's right arm, but it was impact with the pitch that did the damage to the left shoulder.

A user named Mohamed Salah Abdel-Hakeem started the petition and at the time of writing over 130,000 fans had already put their name to the initiative.

The target is 150,000 and it seems that goal will be met with ease.

Ramos has vehemently denied he intended to injure Salah and has wished his fellow professional a speedy recovery ahead of the World Cup.

He said: 'Sometimes football shows you its good side and others the bad. Above all we are fellow pros. Get well soon, Salah. The future awaits you.'

The Egyptian FA have confirmed initial scans on Salah's shoulder show the injury is not as serious as previously feared.

If Salah has not suffered any tear to his shoulder, then Egypt's star man will be fit in time for the World Cup.
