Chelsea reject transfer move for Michy Batshuayi, but offer Borussia Dortmund Alvaro Morata

Chelsea have turned down Borussia Dortmund's offer to buy Michy Batshuayi, reports say.

Dortmund were eager to secure the permanent transfer of Batshuayi after the striker made a massive impact on loan with the Bundesliga side.

Batshuayi scored nine goals in just 14 appearances for Dortmund before his loan was cut short through injury.

The Mirror claim Dortmund had initiated talks with Chelsea over Batshuayi, but have been knocked back.

But, Chelsea have opened the door to Alvaro Morata joining the Germans as they look to raise funds for the transfer window.

Morata has spent just one season at Stamford Bridge, but has disappointed due to a lack of consistency.

Chelsea are willing to let the frontman depart, but want to recoup most of the £60million they paid Real Madrid for his services last summer.

Morata ended his debut season with 15 goals, but 12 of those came in 2017 as the 25-year-old suffered with injuries in the second half of the season.

The Blues have shut down any talk of Batshuayi leaving and believe a new Chelsea manager will be able to get the best out of him at the club.

Antonio Conte is expected to leave this summer and rarely gave Batshuayi a chance to lead the line on a regular basis.

The 24-year-old then proved perhaps Conte was wrong in failing to pick him when he banged in goal after goal at Dortmund.

Morata is open to leaving Chelsea, but would prefer a return to Juventus, who are interested in bringing the striker back to Italy.
