Manchester United plot £80million swap deal involving Anthony Martial and Chelsea star Willian

Jose Mourinho is desperate to be reunited with Willian at Manchester United and is ready to part with Anthony Martial to get his man, according to reports.

United chiefs are said to share Mourinho's concerns over Martial, who gave another listless display in the defeat against Brighton on Friday night.

The France international has scored just one Premier League goal since the turn of the year, but still boasts an array of admirers including Chelsea and Arsenal.

Juventus are said to be the favourites to sign the former Monaco forward, but the Mirror claims United would accept a fee of £40million for the 22-year-old if they were able to land Willian in return, who they believe shares a similar market value.

Mourinho raided his former club last summer for Nemanja Matic and is hoping to do so again with Willian's speed, work ethic and mental strength said to appeal to the Special One.

Any deal could be complicated by the uncertainty surrounding Antonio Conte's future at Stamford Bridge with the Italian expected to leave at the end of the season.

Willian has rarely seen eye-to-eye with the Conte, having struggled to win the former Juventus boss over.

Despite his excellent recent form, the Brazil international was hauled off during last month's FA Cup semi final and was caught storming down the tunnel.

If owner Roman Abramovich believes a Martial-Willian swap is a good deal, however, the Mirror claims he will sanction it, regardless of Chelsea's managerial situation.
