Twitter users condemn trend of mothers 'testing' their son's fiancée yet worship their daughter's fiancé

A twitter user, Peter Rock pointed out that when a man brings his girlfriend home, his mother will expect her to prove she's a wife material by doing chores but such isn't expected of the man. Another twitter user, @mangemmann22 opined that this happens because marriage has been seen as a favour done to women.

But some other Twitter users also pointed out that intending sons-in-law are also subjected to a test of their own by future mothers-in-law who subtly observe them to see if they can provide for their daughters.
