Mavin Records label boss, Don Jazzy has addressed the topic about his latest female signee, Ayra Starr of sampling songs from Wizkid's MIL album.
Hours after Don Jazzy announced the new signee and released her first track, an internet troll claimed that Ayra copied Wizzy's Sweet one track.
"What did I just hear??? This new Mavin girl sampled sweet one??
She no evn allow the song age small. Later dem go open their mouth say no be Wiz inspire them....we dey wait," he wrote.
In response, Don Baba J cautioned the narrative as false, thatin fact, Ayra Starr's song was recorded before MIL.
"First things first Wiz is definitely an inspiration to every artist from Nigeria in the last decade and beyond but this particular sample is from The website Splice. Almost every new producer gets samples from there. Ayra's song was recorded way before MIL came out too sir," Don Jazzy wrote.
