End SARS: Tuface reacts after being dragged to court over protests

Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2baba, has reacted to the criminal complaint filed against him and 49 others for supporting the EndSARS protests.

We earlier reported that an activist named Kenechukwu Okeke, instituted a criminal suit against Aisha Yesufu, Deji Adeyanju, Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz, Yemi Alade, Idibia among others before the Federal Capital High Court in Abuja, FCT over the #EndSARS protests.

According to him, the protesters between October 28 and October 30, 2020 the defendants used their twitter accounts to conspire amongst themselves to "commit misdemeanor, to wit promoting or acting in such a manner with intent to assist in the promotion of an unlawful assembly under the guise or composition of #EndSARS".

Okeke claimed that the offence was punishable under Section 97 (2) of the Penal Code Act, C53 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

Reacting, Tuface in a statement by his manager Efe Omorogbe, described the suit as a mere social media trend.

"There's no comment yet. We have not been served any paper. We have not received any formal summon."

He added that they cannot respond to the charge until they receive a summon.

"We can't respond to what is merely trending on social media until we receive a summon we can't respond," he added.
