Who hit and who missed on this year's MTV VMAs red carpet?
The good, the bad and the ugly. The 2018 MTV VMAs certainly had it all. Sure, viewers are watching to acknowledge the abundance of legendary video-making this past year, but what would the VMAs be without the red carpet and iconic fashion moments.
Let's never forget Madonna's 1984 white bustier dress look with the "Boy Toy" name belt, or Lil Kim's one-shouldered purple jumpsuit with a matching sequined breast-out. In more recent history, there was that time Blac Chyna and Amber Rose's wore matching jumpsuits embellished with slut-shaming names. The VMAs carpet is often home to some of the most daring looks you'll see all year, for whatever reason, it's a place where artists take risks. Risk-taking means there's bound to be some failure and some successes, here, we're taking a look at both.

Nominated three times, this beauty gracefully walked the carpet in a pink Rodarte dress with a bold yellow mani-pedi.
Ashanti
Giving silver sheen, Ashanti did not disappoint.
Jennifer Lopez
Silver looks ran rampant last night. Obviously, J Lo did not fail.

Kulture's mom beautified the carpet in a velvet plum dress.
Winnie Harlow
Fashion model Winnie Harlow ran through three outfit changes through the entirety of the night-- as a fashion model should. She looked stunning in each.

The newlyweds set the bar high with bold prints for Gucci and a bejeweled, fringe bodysuit for Keyshia.
21 Savage
21 cleaned up quite nicely, opting not to do too much or too little.
Teyana Taylor
Teyana's look was mostly about her abs, as good of an accessory as any. A torn white tank and bold red lip rounded it out.
Tyga
Tyga keeps it simple but colorful with his blue matching jean suit.
Millie Bobby Brown
Millie is definitely the most stylish 14-year old after this year's understated outfit.
DJ Khaled & Family
Versace Versace Versace. The Khaled's serving all family goals.
Head-Scratching
G-Eazy
Those sleeves. Is that a nude-coloured mesh shirt under that jacket too?We're just not sure.
Blac Chyna
Blac Chyna showed us her pink G-String thong through her see-through outfit.
Iggy Azalea
Iggy went leather for the carpet this year, and wet-looking hair, resulting in nottt her best look.
Amber Rose
We know Amber Rose is daring, and we appreciate it, but this one should be saved for Halloween specifically (or something?).
Sky
Black Ink Crew's Sky went sort-of topless this year, a la Lil Kim.
Lil Pump
Lil Pump looked a bit messy, although that does appear to be his go-to style.
DeJ Loaf
Don't get us wrong, DeJ Loaf's face and hair look absolutely perfect in this white, flowery and overflowing look, but, we're undecided about the white, flowery and overflowing fit itself.
