Petition For Meek Mill's Release Collates Over 100,000 Signatures

A petition for rapper Meek Mill's release has gathered over 100K signatures as calls for his freedom grow louder.

According to reports, the petition calls on Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf to release the 30-year-old rapper on probation.

Mill, whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, was sentenced on Monday to 2-4 years in state prison for violating probation from his 2009 drug and weapons case.

Philadelphia Judge Genece Brinkley shocked the legal community by jailing the rapper to prison despite recommendations of no jail-time from probation officers and Mill's attorneys.

After the sentence, one of Meek Mill's attorneys, Joe Tacopina, told TMZ that the rapper is behind bars because the judge has a long-standing vendetta against him.

Tacopina claimed that the Judge who is from the same part of Philadelphia with Meek, sent him to jail because he failed to do a remake of Boyz II Men's, "On Bended Knee" and give her a shout-out.

The rapper is serving his sentence at the state prison at Camp Hill, near Harrisburg, Pa., where he is known simply as inmate # ND8400.
